Immigration – A Choice!

Choices in life come with the need for betterment of the future generations. And immigration is a choice that you make for your next generations. My dad moved to U.A.E. in 1976. He spent day and night to better himself and create a great life, a future, a settlement. Eventually, my parents got married and settled in Abu Dhabi.

I was born in Corniche Hospital, Abu Dhabi, U.A.E. in 1984, not the 1st born but I was 2nd in the lineage. They decided on enduring an expatriate life to give their family a chance at a better life, a better education and eventually a different life than what could’ve been achieved in their home country. That life was unique in it’s own way, but then, as everyone has their own choices, we decided we could do different!

How, when, where did I decide to Immigrate?

Now about the real reason why you are here. That question has many answers but then again, there is only one true answer – A CHOICE.

How, When & Where? In 2010 I started working as an IELTS Invigilator (Part-Time) at Higher Colleges of Technology. As IELTS is a crucial part of the immigration process, I was at the forefront of the process. There wasn’t a test that I didn’t attend. I probably liked this job more. And this was mostly because I got to meet so many people and got to listen to their future plans, affinities and of course CHOICES.

What was common in all these stories?

Immigration. Canada, Australia, and New Zealand all of these countries were having an open house inviting people to move in and migrate.

Why? To Give you and your family a better life.
Why? You will strengthen their workforce.
Why? You are highly educated and of course have great work experience.
Why? You will bring in ideas and investment.
Why? You will fix the aging workforce issue!!

These are a few reasons why countries open up immigration. And these few reasons come from a list of many existing problems, decisions and politics in any given country.

Why did I Immigrate?

Now back to me! U.A.E. being my birthplace, a home to my friends, family and extended family, had everything to offer but consistency and a permanent life. Many people had to leave U.A.E. just because they got sick, or didn’t have a job or were just not suitable any more for the country. This made me decide on moving forward. I had seen enough. As a result, I decided to immigrate and call a country my own, my home, my land. This did not happen overnight. A decision. A Choice. We had to try.

What did I choose and why?

That I will let you know next… for now, stay posted and stay hooked … see you!!
