Why Canada Child Benefit (CCB)?

One of the reasons that Canada is inclined towards opening its border to an influx of immigrants is to ensure populace. Over the previous years, there has been a steep decline in the number of children born to Canadian citizens which has led to a shrinkage in the overall working population of Canada. Also a slow increase in the overall population of Canada.

According to Statistics Canada, the last census occurred in 2016. Census program is every 5 years and provides crucial data on population and agriculture. 2016 census showed us that the population of Canada was at 35,151,728 people in total. Out of this population, 16.9% were aged 65 and over, which was a 20% increase from the data 5 years ago (2011-2015). Why are we talking about old people? Remember, I mentioned that we need children and young people to ensure economic prosperity, this is the reason why. The trend is not sustainable in the longer run because you are looking at a working population decrease.

To ensure sustaining the changing trends, Canada provides benefit to permanent residents and citizens of Canada to support children and promote having children. This ensures a better upbringing of children as well as population bloom.

    1. These are tax forms submitted by the employer to the Canada Revenue Agency which states how much money you earned in a given year and how much taxes were already deducted on source. Helps CRA in assessing if the individual will get a refund or has some amount owing to CRA according to the annual income tax bracket.
